When we got this email we reached out to all of our families and
had a special family fast for Elder Levingston. I'm so sure that is
helped him. Fasting and knowing that that all of our family was
doing the same thing was such an awesome feeling. As you
will see with the next few letters he has come a long way.
Oi,
como vão vocés? Eu estou bom mas muito nervouso, porque eu no
falo portuguese...translation...Hi, How are all of you? I am good
but very nervous because I don´t speak portuguese.
To be honest I am so scared. This is the hardest thing I have
ever had to do. I got too comfortable in the MTC. I just arrived
to Curitiba. The area I´m in is Fazenda Rio Grande. I´ve got a
Brazilian companion who´s name is Elder De Oliviera. He is really
cool but it is kinda hard for us to communicate. I only understand
maybe half of what he says. This is alot different than what I
expected. I´m not sure if the water is safe to drink and I´m not
sure if the house we are living in is at all sanitary. I just want
to say thanks mom. You hoped that I would go to a place that is
less than what we have, and um ya I´m here. No its really not that
bad I just need to stop bein a baby. I´ve got a smal house with
a cold shower, and little to eat. its about 1:45 here and all
I´ve eaten all day is a piece of bread and a cup of (not so good)
hot chocolate. If only I could speak the language it would make it
alot more bareable.
I don´t mean to worry you at all. I will be fine. I knbow that
The Lord is watching over me and will guide me through. I know
that this is the true church and that this is the work of the lord.
You are all in my prayers and know that I wish the best for you.
alright time for me to go. I love you all and will talk to
ya later.
Love,
Elder Levingston
