Olá Família,Como foi sua semana? Para mim foi bom mas agora as coisas esta beleza. (How was your week? For me it was good but now things are wounderful.)First to start off I am so greatful for the things that I have. I may have les here than I had back home but it´s alot more than what some people here have. I have been into some house where its all wood and only sheets are separating rooms or used as doors. The floors are dirt or if the house is off the ground they have wood floors. They don´t have a bathroom or a place to shower. And their food is very limited. This place has deffinatley humbled me. I have decided I need to stop complaining about things in my life because they could be alot worse. This week at church they had a conference with the ward and branch combined. They changed the bounderies of the branch and ward so now we have to change where we focus our proselyting. Alot of people murmurred and don´t like the thought of changing bounderies.
I had my first baptism yesterday. It went well and I was really nervous because I had never baptized anyone and to do it in another language made me more nervous. But it all went well. After the baptism we ordered pizza. The pizza here is so good. My favorite is their chocolate strawberry pizza. The other different thing I had the chance to eat this week was cascinha de laranja, or orange peals cooked and coated in sugar. It´s actually really good and very addicting.Today I had my first transfere. We had a member drive us to a bus terminal and I have decided that people here don´t know how to drive. There maybe stops signs and lines painted on the road but they don´t mean a thing here. The stop signs are used more as yield signs and the people will drive where evere they want. Where ever their car will fit they drive. I´m surrprised there aren´t more accidents here. Well I didn´t get transfered but my companion did. I was told that I was more likely to get an american companion to better explaine to me things about the mission. Well I ended up getting another Brazilian companion. I guess the Lord is just answering my prayers to help me better learn this language faster. I am so excited to learn from this new companion. His Name is Elder Moura, He´s from São Paulo and speaks absolutly NO english. My last companion could explaine things in english if I didn´t understand. I think that things will be more of a challenge now. And now that my companion is new to the area I am over the area so things are going to be interesting. Well time to get off the computer. I love you all.
Tchau,
Elder Levingston
